Facebook shut down my mom because she kept on posting helpful links to websites for learning purposes but they thought she was spamming so here we are! 

(she just had to help so she put these up here instead)

Yeah well here are some free links to education resources.

K-12 Learning Resources
  • Kanopy has provided unlimited access to Kanopy Kids and also Great Courses. It will prompt you for your library, library card and then you will need to sign up for an account (can use Facebook or Gmail)
  • Scholastic is providing resource to learn at home for K-8
  • https://www.openschool.bc.ca/k12/ - K-12 resources from BC Campus (leaders in Open Education in Canada)

Upper High School / Post-Secondary

Technology
  • Kahoot - an interactive assessment tool.  Quizzes are created by teachers from all levels of education.  
  • Canva - create posters, presentations, infographics, invitations, and so much more.

Day 10 School is going online!

Socially distanced learning is going online with my actual teachers! So my school is going to be on the computer! Yay! I love my mom, who was making me do work, but I liked Mr B. and Ms C.'s teaching better. Sorry, mom! Friday was a PD day, so no work yay. Today mom let me and my sibling have a day off, because of school starting again virtually, so we played Minecraft, made a chocolate-peppermint cake but we had no peppermint so it was really just a chocolate cake. The recipe is below. We also did a Harry Potter escape room, which was fun.  As always, I still did my math, because I'm a nerd. Stuff from today: Visit the  Hogwarts Digital Escape Room  from a Youth Services Librarian at the  Peters Township Public Library We made Chocolate Peppermint Cake . Most of the recipes that we have made come from the Special Collector's Edition of Everyday Foods from 2007 (Holiday). We have been finding the links to the recipes so that you can make them too!

Days 11 & 12 Minecraft

So I skipped yesterday, because basically all I did was Minecraft. In it I am creating a scavenger hunt with riddles and math and history facts for my sibling. That way I can play a video game as school work!😆 We also played a Kinect Adventure game on the old Xbox 360 (I know, it's ancient ) which is a game you have to move around for. It's pretty fun.
